This Morning Routine Will Improve Your Mood
You’ve got it!
Did you go to bed with so many to-do’s and worries, slept poorly and now you woke up with Einstein’s hair? Foggy morning brain? Zombie-like functioning level? Stop!
Try this:
1.- Focus and clarity: Spend five minutes in silent meditation. Set intent to tap into clarity and focus.
2. Change your brain and body chemistry: Do 20 minutes of cardio/aerobic exercise if you are preparing for a day full of activity
3. Have you tried cold showers? The Wim Of method? A bit extreme but effective. If you don’t know what I am talking about, start with a cold shower and notice how your body changes and you get a clarity and focus, feel well boost
4. Priming meditation: Sit quietly, grab your notebook and write: If today was a perfect day (meaning a day that felt fulfilling, effective, perfection is a form of sabotage) it would… and write the things that need to happen. This will program your mindset.
5. Low energy, depressed? Elevate your vibrations! Certain feelings and the toughts attached to them have the effect of lowering our vibrations. We feel unmotivated, no energy and stuck in a feel sucky cycle. Did you know that you can purposefully change your mood and your vibrations? These are low vibration moods: sadness, hopelessness, helplessness, self doubt, confusion. High vibration moods: Hope, faith, enjoyment, laughter, gratitude, kindness, generosity. So pick a high vibration mood and act on it: start with matching thoughts: I know I can do it, this is just a moment, it’s not the rest of my life, I can do it, God is with me/the universe has my back. Think of a moment that was fun, that you enjoyed (whatch for tainted memories e.g. losing someone attached to that memory), pick neutral memories. Plan for something you enjoy, coffee sipped slowely, enjoying every undertone of flavor, a walk with nature, a pet. Stop for a minute and appreciate e.g. look around your room and find three objects that you’ve kept for a long time. Remind yourself how these objects are part of your story, your ability to have them, think of those who created that object and how your ability to purchase it/them help those people and families have a home, pay for food. We are connected! Lastly, be kind, generous to strangers, to others. It doesn’t have to cost, you can give a smile, a hug, a note of appreciation or a thank you message, a compliment. It’s easy to change our mood!
6. Breathe, meditate, pray, repeat mantras of the words that you never heard but that you need to hear: I am unique, I am special, there is no one like me in the world, I am here to build a life that reflecs my beauty, I make a contribution to the world, I own my space and my right to be here, I am awesome! I deserve success, I am capable of making the changes needed to build a life of peace and fulfillment.
Don’t forget: I love you. I send you the best vibrations in the world. I have faith in you, I know you can do anything that you put your mind into
